B.B. Outlet, 2408 Chamberlain Street, a new fashion store in Capustown, offers a variety of clothing and accessories in a West Coast style.

For those who may think Ames isn't up to par with the fashion standards of the West Coast, it's time to think again.

In April, BB Outlet opened at 2408 Chamberlain St. in Campustown. The store's owner, Britney Nguyen, is from Los Angeles and brings most of her products from California.

BB Outlet sells everything from beauty accessories to shoes, for both men and women - with the majority of products coming straight from Los Angeles.

As the name indicates, most of the merchandise sold is at outlet or discounted prices.

"Even our shampoos are discounted," said full-time employee Tabitha Purdy.

"We'll be getting Bed Head products and will sell them for a lot cheaper than most stores do."

Purdy said the store has been receiving new merchandise daily.

"Every day I've been busy unpacking new things." Purdy said.

"By the end of the week, I should have the store completely reorganized."

Among the different products, BB Outlet boasts a large selection of plus-size women's clothing options. Part of the store will be designated specifically for plus-size clothes once everything is moved.

"Today I unpacked a ton of new plus-size summer clothes. We have great options for every body type," Purdy said.

Lyndsay Clark, junior in interior design, suggests stopping by the store.

"It's a great alternative to the mall, especially since there are so few stores there," Clark said.

"Plus, BB Outlet is within walking distance of campus, so it's ideal for those without cars."

Currently, the store is running a grand opening sale of 10 percent off everything.
